ESP32 weather lab
Change the weather. Send a command. Put the station behind CGNAT and see what an outbound Diode connection changes.
Browser simulation. Every reading, connection, message and acknowledgement below is generated on this page. No ESP32, cloud service or blockchain network is connected.

Set the virtual BME280’s surroundings. Readings include a small, repeatable synthetic variation.

Sensor uploads use simulated HTTP POST. Browser controls and live updates use a separate simulated WebSocket channel. Closing that channel does not stop local sampling or weather storage.

The idea behind the lab
In my April 2024 Diode post, I described a BME280 weather station with a Raspberry Pi running nginx, PHP and MariaDB, and explored making that private cloud available through Diode without a public IP address. This lab brings that weather-store idea together with browser control of a virtual ESP32.
The private route models a Diode-capable gateway beside the station. It does not put a blockchain node on the ESP32. A real deployment needs authenticated commands, HTTPS/WSS, supported gateway software and verification on the actual network. Route changes here are a teaching model, not measured connection tests. The simulation clock pauses while this tab is hidden.
